I recently started taking a course on fused glass from a talented artist named Jennifer Kelly. Her studio is located at the old mill in Carleton Place, and while out there one day recently, I took some photos of the building and the mill technology (or what’s left of it). It was a perfect day for this type of photography – heavy clouds around noon time – lots of even lighting.
And if you want to know more about Jennifer’s work, her web site is at http://www.currentworksofglass.com. If it wasn’t for her, I doubt that I would ever have had a reason to explore this part of Carleton Place.
By the way … Jennifer is an awesome teacher … knowledgeable, experienced, patient, supportive and best of all, she lets you learn by experimenting with the glass.
